Craigclowan is a co-educational, day school situated in 15 acres of its own ground on the outskirts of Perth. It is administered by a Charitable Trust.
Boys and girls are prepared for Common Entrance and scholarship for Independent Schools in both England and Scotland. In the past year or two children will have entered Glenalmond, Strathallan, Fettes, Loretto, Gordonstoun, St. Leonards, Downe House, West Heath, St. Mary's Calne, St. Mary's Ascot, Malvern, Stowe, Haileybury, Rugby, Ampleforth and Eton as a result of Common Entrance or Scholarship.
Much attention is paid to each individual child in their preparation for academic success throughout the school and much energy is directed to a wide range of extra curricular activities with games, music, debating, drama and art high on the list. The games played include rugby, hockey and cricket for boys, tennis, hockey and netball for girls, whilst everyone swims and takes part in athletics and skiing. Instrumental tuition takes in all the orchestral areas and children regularly participate in productions both at school and at the local Repertory Company.
Recently the school has opened new facilities which include a sports hall, an art and design centre and a new pre-school. A further new building of 5 classrooms, a music suite, learning support facilities, a library and IT centre was opened in September 1996.
